Our Commitment

Vallejo Optometry Group is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance in compliance with California law (effective May 2026 for medical practices). This site is continuously evaluated and improved.

Accessibility Features Implemented

Keyboard-navigable interface — all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard alone.

Skip-to-content link — keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repeated navigation.

Semantic HTML — landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer), proper heading hierarchy, and ARIA labels.

Reduced motion — all animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion system setting via MotionConfig.

Color contrast — body text on all backgrounds meets WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 minimum). Large decorative text meets 3:1.

Images — all informative images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked aria-hidden.

Forms — all form inputs have visible labels, inline error messages, and required-field indicators.

Focus management — focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements at all times.

Responsive design — content is usable at 320px width and with up to 400% browser zoom.

Known Limitations

  • PDF documents — if any PDFs are linked, they may not be fully accessible. Contact us for an accessible alternative.

  • Third-party embeds — Google Maps direction links open in a new tab on Google's own platform, which is outside our control.
